Repairing, Renovating or Painting... Are you Lead safe? Has your certification expired? Lead Safe Work Practices Training is required for anyone who renovates, repairs or paints homes and/or child occupied facilities (6 yrs. old and under). If you did not renew the training or take the required continuing education classes, you may need to take this class again. Lead Safe Work Practices is a REQUIRED certification for persons disturbing painted surfaces on pre-1978 structures. Renovators, Remodelers and Painters, you MUST get Lead Safe, IT'S THE LAW. This certification applies to: Schools, General Contractors, Property Managers (owners and managers of residential houses and apartment complexes), Painters, Plumbers, Carpenters, Electricians, Remodelers, Window replacement and full/partial demolition activities.
Houston County - Dothan, Alabama; tests showed they had the 2nd highest levels of Lead poisoned children in the Country at the time of the Flint crisis. This is an important reason for getting trained. You can be held responsible for a Lead poisoned child if you do not follow the State regulated directions and make your work environment Lead Safe.

Course Description: Alabama has established its own Lead Enforcement Program as of January 1, 2011. All persons certified to perform Lead Safe Renovation, Remodeling, and Painting in Alabama after Dec. 31, 2010 are required to be certified by an Alabama Approved Training Provider. This certification lasts 3 years. AlabamaLeadRRP.com is an approved provider for this Course. This 1-day (8-hr) class explains how to comply with The State of Alabama’s Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) Rule. Subjects covered include:
1. Why Lead Paint is a health concern
2. Regulations
3. Lead Safe Work Practices
4. Containment
5. Cleaning
6. Record keeping.
After passing the required exam, students receive an Alabama Lead RRP Certificate recognized by the State of Alabama. For more information, which then is sent to Safe State for a Renovator's registration. From this, you must register your business with the Alabama Department of Public Health, Lead Division. visit: http://www.renovatealabama.com and www.adph.com/lead. The first site includes Lead renovator applications and the second is the Alabama Department of Health and includes the information for enforcement and becoming a Lead safe Firm. The complete cylcle has 3 steps. 1. Our class, 2. Become a Certified Renovator and 3. Become a Certified Firm. Additionally, ALL employers in the State of Alabama MUST also comply with the new immigration Laws and register with E-verify. This information is found at www.everify.com.
Terms and Conditions
The registration fee for the Alabama Lead RRP 8 Hour Training Class is $250.00 and includes all course materials. Registration is payable by credit card submitted online below. Please call for registration when paying by check. All checks should be made payable to Smart North America, Inc. and received at least one week in advance of class date. Registration will be confirmed upon receipt of payment. Payment (cash or credit card) is accepted at the class site on an as available basis of both space and ample materials.

We reserve the right to re-schedule classes without penalty subject to the number of students registered.
Refund Policy: The course registration fee is refundable up to the 14th day before the scheduled class date. The registration fee is not refundable after that time. If a participant is unable to attend on the course date for which they originally registered, we will allow up to two changes of the date of their registration, free of charge. After that, the registration and fee will be forfeited.
